aeolian islands

sweet escape out of syracusa to the aeolian islands after a three hour train ride with one connection, a taxi ride, and then an hour ferry ride...


we got in around 2 and checked in to the hotel. it's wonderful - A/C and clean! it feels so good to not stick to the sheets in teh bed because it's so humid! it even smells good in here (no lingering smell of mold and mildew like in my apartment...) then we went out to find something to eat but, once again, siesta throws things for a loop. we found a restaurant where we ordered a burger and fries (their fries are SO good here). the burger came wihtout a bun. it cost 8 euros which was kinda a rip considering we went to the supermarket afterward and bought all our items for less tahn 8 euro... bah! then we just came back to the hotel and relaxed and now i'm here!
